lithopelagophil
a reproductive guild (q.v.) of rock and gravel spawners with pelagic larvae characterised by an adhesive chorion over the zona radiata at first with some eggs soon buoyant. After hatching free embryos are pelagic by positive buoyancy or active movement. The young are not photophobic and there is a limited respiratory structure. An example of this type is Sander vitreus (Percidae)
